The Obama Journal is an ongoing effort to record the key policy decisions and substantive accomplishments of President Obama and his administration.

Whenever possible, The Obama Journal will steer clear of politics to focus on the real impact of domestic and foreign policy. The Obama Journal is premised on the idea that America faces historic challenges at this time, and that the seriousness of the times warrants a serious and informative focus on the solutions being proposed and implemented by the Obama Administration to meet those challenges.

To be clear, The Obama Journal assumes that President Obama is an imperfect man, but one who is serious about the challenges we face, and thoughtful in his approach to policy. Any reasonable reader of The Obama Journal will find that the Journal is generally sympathetic to the policies of President Obama. The goal of The Obama Journal is to lay out information on key policies in a brief format (with links to more comprehensive information), while offering occasional looks at the style and substance of the President's leadership, as well as occasional extended commentary from the editors of the Journal.
